Why Keep Coming Back – “ it’s really benefits adult players”
Let’s talk about the physical
benefits of just showing up every Monday night. If you think about it, Monday should
be called the beginning of the week. It’s when you start your weekly ritual
called “working to survive”.
A big problem is some of us adults
avoid trying new things, the challenge is not in playing the instrument, it is
overcoming the excuses not to. I am
aware that a lot of adults lead busy lives and hectic work schedules that find
it impractical to fit in music performing.
Think of it this way, when is the
last time you felt that sense of accomplishment, of being finally able to play
that passage after working at it over and over and over? All of a sudden it
becomes kind of addictive, you WANT to keep going, you NEED to keep going. Why
are you starting to feel this way? All of a sudden the rest of the workweek
doesn’t fell too bad, feels like you can handle it.
It seem that the you are now
just discovering the real reason that adults should play musical instruments,
the physical and mental benefits that accompany playing a musical
instrument. I have taken the opportunity
to list just a few benefits to adults who play musical instruments for just ONE NIGHT PER WEEK at the local community band rehearsal that meets from 7pm until
10pm:
· Reduces Stress in the Workplace
o Reducing employee related depression
o Reducing burnout
o Improving retention
· Increased Intelligence
· Development of Discipline and Patience
· Better IQ
· Improved Focus and Memory
· Heightened Creativity and Energy Focus
· Boosts Brain’s Language Skills
· Better Physical Health
· Improvement of Relationships and Bonding
· Develops Listening Skills
· Could be the key to Unlocking Memories (Alzheimer)
· Sense of Achievement
· Outlet for Emotions
· Physical Workout
· FUN FUN FUN
Whichever benefit to play a musical instrument relates to
you, it’s the overall collection of physical and mental benefits that should
keep your interest and keep you playing.
